Who we are:

colin Campbell

Educator. Producer. City-Builder. Connector.

I’m Colin Campbell — founder of RenewYEG, an advocacy initiative focused on unlocking the potential of Edmonton’s east downtown through culture, community, and bold ideas.

For the past decade, I’ve worked at the intersection of arts, education, and event production — building creative spaces, championing youth programs, and producing some of Alberta’s most celebrated cultural experiences. As a music educator and performer, I’ve taught across the province — from five years with the Youth Orchestra of Northern Alberta (YONA) to helping launch the music program at Kapaweno First Nation Collegiate, where I blended traditional knowledge with modern music technology to empower emerging artists.

Beyond the classroom, I’ve helped bring people together through large-scale cultural moments — including Blues on Whyte’s 40th Anniversary Festival, collaborations with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and supporting events around the JUNO Awards. My work has always centered culture as a catalyst for connection, equity, and renewal.

To move from advocacy to activation, I launched CIVIQ — a regenerative infrastructure platform powering new venues, artist directories, and equity-focused cultural programming. While RenewYEG shapes the vision, CIVIQ builds the system that brings it to life.

Together, we’re reimagining The Quarters as Edmonton’s next great arts and entertainment district — built on creativity, collaboration, and the belief that cities thrive when culture leads.
